The Pool of Fire

Rounding out the past couple days of Boys' Life comics I've been posting here is an adaptation of "The Pool of Fire," the third story in Samuel Youd's The Tripods series. (Written under the pen name "John Christopher.") I never had these issues as a kid, so I was never able to finish the story. (To be fair, I never had the earliest issues that included these comics, so I never read the beginning either.) The entire series was serialized from 1981 until 1986, drawn by Frank Bolle. Youd (as Christopher) was credited but I'm not certain how direct his involvement with this particular adaptation was. I suspect he did little more than approve Bolle's work and it was Bolle who actually paced and scripted the adaptation.

With that said, here are the comic pages of the "The Pool of Fire." The scans were taken from Google Books' Boys' Life collection, and 'colated' by The Haunted Closet.
