Lion Man is argueably the first Black superhero, first appearing in
All-Negro Comics #1 back in 1947. Rosarium Publishing just launched a crowd-funding project to bring new adventures featuring this old character back to the public thanks to the creative talents of
John Jennings, Yvette Lisa Ndlovu, and David Brame on the main story and including contributions from
Damina Duffy,
Nate Powell, Joel Christian Gill, Christa Cassano, Ezra Claytan Daniel, Jamie Noguchi, Ben Passmore, and Fabrice Sapolsky among others.
While the project hasn't
formally kicked off yet -- Bill Campbell noted, "We are a little behind in launching the project (I'm still new to this whole BackerKit thing)" -- you can still
check out the campaign and pledge to any of the different tiers available. Rosarium has published some good works before, and there are some really powerful creators on this project, so I'm personally really eager to see this one come to fruition.
