  • Tierney Sneed of USNews & World Report asks, "When will the perception of women in comics catch up to reality?"
  • This one is from last week, but I didn't see it make the usual rounds. Forbidden Planet talked with Janet Smyth, who was one of the primary organizers of the Edinburgh International Book Festival, which featured the likes of Joe Sacco, Chris Ware and Neil Gaiman. What's interesting is that she comes at comics as a historical non-comics reader, and yet she still has a great appreciation of the medium and is looking to play up the comics elements of the festival.
  • Tod Emko and Ethan Young have launched a Kickstarter about the superhero adventures of the real-life three-legged dog called Piggy. Looks like fun book, and I know Young well enough to know that he's put a lot of spirit into it. Interestingly, too, one of the reward tiers includes a video game -- but that's clearly written in as ancillary to the comic itself, which is kind of refreshing approach, I think.
