Alex Woolfson was wondering who exactly was reading his current webcomic, The Young Protectors. So a couple weeks ago, he posted a reader survey! Now, while the survey is anonymous, it's also voluntary and able to be completed more than once, so the results are probably not scientifically sound, but it does provide an interesting look at who who's reading this type of material.
I've gone through the results this afternoon, and created some handy pie charts that I think show the results a little better than how they're presented in the survey materials. Especially in light of some of the recent discussions regarding gender and sexuality, I find the results quite interesting.
Are you a first-time reader?
How old are you?
What is your gender?
Do you identify as transgender?
In terms of sexual orientation, how would you identify yourself to a trusted friend?
In terms of sexual attraction, where would you rate yourself right now on the Kinsey scale? (Note: I've abbreviated the answer descriptions here, so they fit on the chart. The descriptions over at Woolfson's survey are more nuanced.)
