Manga Is Dead

You know that old saw about how that a fad is considered dead once the mainstream media start reporting on it? With that in mind, what does the back page of yesterday's circular from the craft store Michael's say about the state of manga?

I saw that, too, and my immediate reaction was "man, everybody wants to ride this gravy train." But Michael's is pretty far outside the traditional pop culture domain, so I don't think it will hurt manga's street cred (we're probably two of the very few people who even noticed).
Now the free Iron Man comic with the purchase of a crappy DVD at Best Buy is a bit more noticeable.
